Ernest Melton

Tenor saxophonist, composer, and bandleader. Grew up in the church as the son of a Primitive Baptist preacher; left school at 16 to hone his craft on Kansas City bandstands. Released the acclaimed album The Time of the Slave Is Over (2018) and is a regular performer at the Mutual Musicians Foundation.
